Tai Shan, pronounced tie-shon, the baby panda was born on 9th July 2005 at Smithsonian National Zoo, Washington DC. Tai Shan means peaceful mountain. This Tai Shan will not grow quite so large as his namesake, he was made by Robin Rive to commemorate the baby panda's birth. He is 27cm (10") tall, made from cream and black mohair and wears a blue spotted bow. Tai Shan is no. 8 of a limited edition of 300.
